How does it work?
RecoverMyWorld works hard to alleviate the stress of recovering your precious memories
after you have been victimized by water damage or a house fire. Contacting your
insurance provider is the first step in the recovery process. They can give you
the best understanding of your policy and your options for recovery. Whether you
choose to sift through the rubble yourself, or have a company do it for you, the
following steps are easy.
1 Use caution when sifting through your home. Protective
gloves, glasses and face masks are recommended. You can find these items at most
local retailers (Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Grocery Stores).
2 Collect any photographs, albums, home videos and
movie reels that you have found throughout the sorting process. Be sure to find
the areas where they may have been stored or hung during the average day. Once you
have finished collecting your items, simply bag (Ziplock or trash bags) and box
them up for shipping.
3 You will then fill out an order
form on our website. Once you click the submit button, you'll be given a
screen with a mailing label. That mailing label contains a bar coded order ID. Simply
print and affix that label to a well packaged box containing the photos you want
us to scan and ship it to us. You will be given the option to schedule a FedEx
pickup, drop off or you can print a generic label and ship via the courier of your
choice. Due to the delicate nature of the contents, Priority Overnight Shipping
is the preferred method of shipping your items. When we receive your box, we'll
scan the bar code which activates your order in our system and sends you an email
to let you know we've received your photos.

Before: This print was found melted together with
others in a pile of ashes. It suffered severe smoke, fire and water damage.
After Basic Restoration: We cleaned the print
to remove as much debris as possible, then digitally lifted the smoke damage away
and balanced out the tones and contrast. This process is included in our Basic Restoration
Package.
